Early days, rough edges

Tiamat is an early test build, and we are sorry that it still shows. Expect bugs, missing pieces, the odd crash, and things that change from one version to the next. Thank you for playing this early and for bearing with us while it grows.

1

Pick the right download

Open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. If it lists a Chip such as Apple M1, M2, M3 or M4, take Apple silicon. If it lists an Intel Processor, take Intel Mac.

2

Open the download

Double-click the downloaded .tar.gz file. Finder unpacks it into a folder holding Tiamat.app and a folder named current.

3

Move the whole folder

Drag the whole folder into Applications or your home folder before you open the game. Keep Tiamat.app and current together. macOS runs apps straight from Downloads out of a read-only copy that cannot see the rest of the game.

4

Clear the quarantine flag, once

Open Terminal. Type cd and a space, drag the Tiamat folder onto the Terminal window, and press Return. Then run the line below. Without it macOS calls the app damaged. It is not: this test build is not signed yet.

terminal
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine .
5

Open Tiamat

Double-click Tiamat.app. Drag it to the Dock if you want to keep it there.

"Tiamat is damaged" If you see this, the quarantine step was skipped or run in a different folder. Run it again from inside the Tiamat folder, then open the app.
